I was an Independent County Councillor on Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council from May 2014 to May 2019.
The Society is fully compliant with the Companies Act, 2014 and the Charities Act, 2009.
The Society was established in 1990 to promote the study of genealogy, heraldry and vexillology as open access educational leisure pursuits in Ireland and abroad amongst her diaspora.
I am the Editor of ‘Ireland’s Genealogical Gazette’ – the monthly newsletter of the Genealogical Society of Ireland and have published many articles in several journals on topics ranging from history, genealogy, vexillology, heraldry, Celtic languages, ethnicity and heritage to legislative and community development matters.
I am a member of a number of academic and specialist organisations as follows:

I am a member of the Project Team for the Irish DNA Atlas which is an academic research project undertaken by the Genealogical Society of Ireland in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
